Overview
About the Technical Assistance (TA)
The Business Case for Breastfeeding Technical Assistance protocol is designed to provide technical guidance for individuals and agencies utilizing The Business Case for Breastfeeding resource kit and curriculum from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Maternal and Child Health Bureau. While the resource kit and curriculum were designed to lay the foundation for community based initiative to increase lactation support in the workplace, the technical assistance project is an extension of that effort. As questions arise during the processes of implementing and conducting outreach and trainings in communities, the Technical Assistance portion of the project is available to provide the needed support and guidance.
The Technical Assistance portion of the project combines the resources, expertise, and experience of the project staff and other professionals who will provide assistance to Healthy Start Communities, State breastfeeding coalitions, and their representatives who are implementing The Business Case for Breastfeeding outreach and trainings.
Who can access TA?
HCDI provides technical assistance (TA) to those Healthy Start and State Breastfeeding Coalitions, and their representatives that have been trained at an HCDI sponsored training of “Implementing The Business Case for Breastfeeding in Your Community”. Limited assistance is also available to those individuals and agencies that have received the training through other means. However, trainees are encouraged to first contact the individual or agency that conducted the training before using the HCDI TA helpline or online form. Useful information can also be found on this web site, especially under the FAQ section.
The state breastfeeding coalitions and Healthy Start communities that have been specifically selected by MCHB will be invited to participate in a monthly teleconference call. They will receive technical assistance via email and other telephone communication. In addition, they may also be entitled to one on-site follow up visit where additional TA will be provided. For a calendar of scheduled follow up visits, please click here. For more information, please call the TA helpline or fill out the form below.
You can access technical assistance via two methods:
