The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) is sponsoring the Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2008 Formula Grant Implementation Trainings to assist grantees as they start up their Neighborhood Stabilization Program.  The Neighborhood Stabilization Program grants, administered by CPD’s Office of Block Grant Assistance, provide funding to state and local governments to acquire and redevelop foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight.  These regional trainings will address a variety of issues such as income rules, eligible uses, financing, land banking and demolition as well as program reporting and administration. Trainings will be held in the following locations:

  • Jacksonville, Florida (June 25-26) Closed
  • Chicago, Illinois (July 6-7) Closed
  • Los Angeles, California (July 9-10) Closed
  • Fort Worth, Texas (July 13-14) Closed

This training is appropriate for NSP1 Grant Recipients, who receive funds directly from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Priority will be given to NSP grantees, HUD staff, and sub-recipients who register with a grantee.
